Saturday Morning Run 7:00am. (longer distances
start earlier) Saturday
Morning Run Map during
lake construction until August 2008
There is no better
way to start off a great weekend than a beautiful run in
the country! Many of our club members take advantage
of Saturday mornings as an opportunity to get that long run
in for the week. Typically,
longer distance runners(10+ miles) start around 6:00 AM while middle
distance runners get to sleep in and start later 7:00 AM. After
the run usually around 8:30 AM we meet at a local dinning
establishment to relax and enjoy a nice breakfast.
Club members include walkers as well as those that win their
age group in local races. However our Wednesday and Saturday
Runs target new, beginning runners and prospective new members. We
hope you will join us! We keep the runs short (3-6mi) and
keep the pace easy. We start at 6:30pm Wed and 7:00am
Sat. You will find at least one board member at each run
to welcome any new people and answer any questions you may have. We
will try to have water, cups, membership brochures, etc. available. And
most importantly you are welcome to eat together with us afterwards
(refueling is important!) and talk about running. If you
are training toward a specific goal; distance or time such as
a Marathon in 4 hours, etc. and need a more intense, longer work
out or specific training we encourage you to also train with
a group such as Runners Edge or develop your own training program
using Runner’s World or a similar program. We hope
you will still run with us when it fits in with your training
program.
Please feel free to contact one of the club Officers by
phone or e-mail your first time out so we can help you coordinate with
other runners of your pace and distance.
